Great version

Postby Maddog » Sat May 05, 2007 9:34 am

Hey,

I really liked the previous version of shell-enhancer, but it caused lots of problems and kept crashing other software.
This new version is GREAT and hasn't crashed anything so far :)

Thank you.

One thing though - I don't like that the installer makes "create a quickstart icon" on by default.
I think most users have SE running all the time, why waste space on an icon?

I do have a tiny bug report though.
There's a setting to hide destkop items, but if I don't turn it on and my icons are already hidden - SE shows them.

I'm glad you like it :).

About the icons hiding, it's not really a bug. Since you tell SE not to hide the icons, it will show them. However, I might change the logic in a future version.

I think it is ok to call this a bug, because in Windows XP (right click on desktop -> Arrange Icons -> Show Destop Icons)
The setting remains unchecked, yet icons are visible.

In that case I will need to investigate it how XP is hiding the icons. Probably XP and SE are both hiding the icons on a different way. If I can do it the same way as XP itself, then I suppose it should work properly.
