Enhanced TaskSwitcher and Dreamweaver MX 2004

Postby DrWorm » Wed Jul 28, 2004 8:54 am

With Enhanced TaskSwitcher enabled, if you Alt+Tab to Dreamweaver MX 2004 to display the thumbnail a couple of semi-transparent coloured boxes will appear.

The only other requirements for this bug to show is that Dreamweaver must be maximised and you mustn't have any file open in Dreamweaver.

By the looks of it, Dreamweaver MX 2004 uses semi-tranparent coloured boxes to overlay it's controls to make them appear disabled when a file is not open and you cannot use them.

Do these semi-transparent boxes appear outside the Alt-Tab Window?
If so, that's indeed a problem which also occurs on a few other applications (for example visual studio). But, the bad news is, I use the function PrintWindow which comes with Windows XP to get a screencapture of a certain window. Unfortunately the implementation of PrintWindow in Windows XP is not 100% bug-free and causes these semi-transparent colored boxes to appear. Also, sometimes, there are black rectangles on the little preview in the alt+tab window which are also caused by the PrintWindow function.

That's correct. They appear where they should appear if DW were the top application.

It's not a big deal. Though, I wonder if MS XP PowerToys Alt-Tab Replacement suffers the same problem? I expect it works the same way with the screenshot.

Edit: The answer is "Yes", PowerToys does suffer the same problem with DW.

Then we'll have to wait for Windows 'Longhorn' and NuonSoft ShellEnhancer for 'Longhorn' (due somewhere in 2006-2007) ;)
