leave some apps alone

Postby mortee » Thu Oct 16, 2008 2:08 pm

Is there, or may there be some way to leave some specific apps completely alone? I have an application, which currently, if SE is running, crashes all the time. But it works just fine if I shut SE down.

However, I'd of course prefer to keep SE running, just have it avoid this specific app.

thx

Try to make an auto managed window rule for that application.
Go to the settings window of SE, then click on the "Auto Managed Windows" tab, click on the "+" button, enter your application name (.exe), disable all other options for that rule and see if that helps.

I will add a proper "exclusion" list to the next version.

But, can you also tell me which application it is so I can maybe try to find out and fix the reason of the crash in the next version?

The exclusion list may be a good idea in any case.

However, the app in question is SAS 9.1.3 from SAS Institute. It's not really a widely known one, and I guess you won't get your hands on it easily if you don't already have it. I myself only have it on my workplace machine.

I may try to help track down the problem, if I have the time.

Thank you for the info. I'll see what I can do about it in the next dev cycle.
